International Conference FISM

The goal of the international conference, `Failing Identities, Schools, and Migrations – Teaching in (Trans)National Constellations`, which took place at the University of Bremen was a critical and reflexive confrontation with the role of pedagogy in times of globalised migration movements and the impact on (trans-)national constellations on teaching and learning. In this conference, we focussed both on schools as a field of action and teacher training as central interfaces to connect science and discourse practices. The conference aimed at creating a fruitful international platform for a both scientific and practical exchange on different and innovative ways in which pedagogic professionalism in migration societies is and can be realised in different national contexts.

The conference was founded by the Mercator Foundation, thei German Research Foundation (DFG), the Wilhelm-Ritter-Stiftung and the Hertie-Stiftung.
