Early Childhood Education

Early Childhood Education / Transition from kindergarten to primary schooling

 

This area encompasses both research on early-years pedagogy in respect of childhood preconceptions of natural scientific phenomena as well as evaluation and development projects in the practice field of early childhood education (e.g. participation in the development program "PIK - Profis in Kitas" [Nursery school professionals]) and in the transition period between early childhood education and elementary school. This includes projects on family education, joint training for professionals in early childhood and elementary school education (e.g. in the project "Natur-Wissen-Schaffen") as well on the modification of school starting phases in different federal states. The shared objective of these projects is their contribution towards the reform and development of early childhood education as well as elementary school pedagogy.
